Welcome to Point Vernon

Immediately west of Pialba sits Point Vernon, named in 1861 after Captain Charles Vernon. The foreshore in Point Vernon becomes quite rocky in some places but the views from the Esplanade can be pretty awesome.

At the tip of Point Vernon is Gatakers Landing Restaurant which is also a venue for functions. Gatakers is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. There are a few small convenience stores, hair salons and a medical facility, together with two retirement complexes. The Esplanade Walk and Cycle Trail which begins in Urangan continues on to the tip of Point Vernon and this section of the cycle trail is free from driveways/traffic and is therefore a favourite for families with young children. Homes range from double storey on the Esplanade with lovely ocean views, to large and expansive family entertainer’s, to your typical brick and tile, four bed, two bath on an 800sqm block. The odd fisherman’s cottage can be found as well, renovated or needing work.
